Mahatma Gandhi, changed the world around him by not cooperating with the powers that be, of his time. His acts of non-violent non-cooperation inspired civil rights leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King to bring positive change to citizens around the world. Today DEBT WARRIORS will share how to use Non-Cooperation with with Credit Predators to bring positive change into your own financial situation.
What is a Credit Predator?
A Credit Predator is any person or business that seeks to keep you bound by debt for as long as they can. Credit Predators go by many names and use many different ways to trick and trap Consumers into debt. For example, in 2007, millions of Americans were offered loans that they simply could not afford. Loans for homes, cars and credit cards were being offered to Americans without regard for the persons ability to pay the loan back.
Sadly many people cooperated with the Credit Predators by accepting these weapons of mass debt. Now one year later, millions of Americans are loosing their homes to foreclosure, their credit card rates are being raised to the point where it will be impossible to pay off and some (like Wanda Dunn) have committed suicide behind debt.
What is Non-Cooperation?
Non-Cooperation is the act of non-violent protest. In the case of credit and debt, it’s simply not going along to get along. In example, when a Debt Collector calls you attempting to secure a “good faith payment”, non-cooperation would be Validating the debt. In the case of foreclosure, non-cooperation would be forcing the lender to “prove the note”. In the case of unsolicited credit card offers, non-cooperation would be simply to not take advantage of the offer.
What non-cooperation is not
Non-cooperation is not ignoring your Creditors or Attorneys harassing and threatening you. It is not hiding for as long as you can form your responsibilities or pretending like you have no interest at stake. You don’t have to ignore your debt problems. You can settle your debt (for yourself) or you can hire an affordable attorney in your state to help you in your non-violent struggle against Credit Predators.
